Freelance web developer — Barcelona

Hi, I'm Laia.

I build websites that load fast, read clearly and bring you clients.

Selected work

Services

  • A complete website, made to measure

For businesses that need a proper site: your services, your work, a way to contact you. Designed and built from zero, fast on any phone, easy to find on Google.

  • Express landing page

One page that explains what you do and gets people to write to you. Ready in days, not months. Good for launches, campaigns or a first serious presence online.

  • Tune-up for your current site

Site slow, dated or invisible on Google? I review it in depth and fix what hurts: speed, design, visibility. I leave it in a state you can maintain.

  • Something else in mind?

An idea, an internal tool, something that doesn't fit any box. Tell me about it and we'll figure out how to make it real.

Off screen

Solving problems doesn't always happen on a screen. Some experiments live on the kitchen counter, in the field, in the garden.

  • Improved moka pot

Insulation and a gentler heat curve for a sweeter cup. Still measuring.

    Moka pot — field notes

PROBLEMThe metal conducts heat into the ground coffee before the water rises → it burns, bitter taste.

HYPOTHESISNon-conductive funnel to insulate the coffee + cut the heat at just the right moment. Goal: a stable 90–96°C through the whole extraction.

SETUPK thermocouple + MAX6675 → real-time temperature curve. First the stock moka, then with the insulated funnel.

RESULTMeasurements in progress. The kitchen smells great.

  • The oracle inside the mirror

A fortune-telling machine inside an antique cabinet: a Pepper's ghost that reads your future.

    The oracle inside the mirror

A modern fortune-telling machine: antique cabinet, holographic figure that listens and speaks, AI-generated reading, printed card. The experiment: giving a machine physical presence.

PROBLEMA flat screen has no presence. For a machine to read your future, the figure has to live inside the cabinet, floating, as if it had always been there.

HYPOTHESISPepper's Ghost: glass at 45°, screen hidden below. The reflection creates a virtual image floating in the dark of the cabinet. An 1862 illusion, 2026 components.

SETUPSecond-hand antique cabinet + screen + acrylic at 45° + Python, synthesized voice and AI-generated reading + thermal printer for the card + card reader.

RESULTMVP under construction. Dolores doesn't speak yet, but she's already watching.

  • Kintsugi

A broken cup, repaired with lacquer and gold. The scar in plain sight.

    Kintsugi — the broken cup

The Japanese technique of repairing ceramics with lacquer and gold: instead of hiding the break, it becomes the most valuable line of the piece. The cup fell; instead of throwing it away, I repaired it the traditional way.

PROBLEMA cup in three pieces. An invisible repair (glue and disguise) is always worse than the original piece. A visible one can be better.

HYPOTHESISIf the fracture line is treated as part of the design and not as a flaw, the repaired piece gains value, both aesthetic and in use.

SETUPUrushi lacquer to join the fragments, slow curing in a humid chamber, thin layers. Gold powder brushed onto the last layer while still tacky. Weeks of patience, not hours.

RESULTThe cup is back on the shelf. The gold veins mark exactly where it broke: the map of the accident, in gold.

About me

Physicist by training, web developer by vocation. Code that ships, products that work, zero smoke.

I value honesty, learning from others, and simply doing things the right way.
